Help for Anxiety and Feeling Anxious

As an online counsellor and psychotherapist I see many people struggling with anxiety. Most people feel anxious at some time in their life and some struggle with ongoing anxiety. It may be a particular situation that triggers feeling anxious or a general feeling of anxiety about life.

Anxious thoughts can go around and around in our heads distracting us from being fully in the present, or making it difficult to relax or sleep. People seek counselling and psychotherapy when they feel overwhelmed and find it hard to focus on one thing. When anxious feelings are triggered it can cause people to doubt themselves.

In counselling and psychotherapy I see people who struggle with anxious thoughts, or strong emotions, and others who feel anxiety in their body. Anxious body signs may be feeling tension, nervous, shaky, a knot, fluttery or sick in the stomach, numb, heart racing, short of breath, confused, legs like jelly or the urge to run, fight, or curl up in a ball. Anxiety can be triggered by ongoing stressful events or trauma. Anxiety can be helped by counselling and psychotherapy.

As a counsellor / psychotherapist I help people struggling with anxious thoughts, emotional responses, or body signs. My style of counselling and psychotherapy uses a variety of approaches to help the person feel safe, we explore what is happening in a way and at a pace that works for each person.
